'There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophy'

Friedrich Nietzsche

Having gained our degrees from the British School of Osteopathy, we have been running a successful osteopathy, mechanical therapy and dry needle therapy practice in South London for over twenty years. In that time we have gained a vast experience in the treatment of a wide variety of musculo-skeletal conditions including:

  • Neck and back pain - joint and muscular strains, disc herniation and prolapse, whiplash trauma, spondylosis and spondylitis

  • Sciatica

  • Sports injuries - meniscal injuries, rotator cuff tears, tennis elbow

  • Headaches - stress-related headache, sub-occipital headache, migraine

  • Pain in peripheral joints such as shoulders, knees and ankles with associated tendinitis and muscle strains

  • Arthritic pain - osteoarthritis

  • Work-related repetitive strain injuries - tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome

When used in conjunction with medical treament, Osteopathy and mechanical therapy can be very effective in the treatment of asthma, chronic fatigue and gastro-intestinal dysfunction. The treament offered can be of great benefit to mothers-to-be in relieving acute back pain, reducing the risk of spinal pain during pregnancy and preparing the body for labour and delivery.

Using gentle non-manipulative techniques, children suffering from musculo-skeletal pain can recieve rapid relief . An important aspect of our work involves advice on correct posture when stationary and mobile, appropriate ergonomics at the workstation and effective exercise therapy in order to prevent future injury.

Cranial osteopathy is used to treat a variety of ailments that affect babies and infants.

Through a combination of soft-tissue, dry needle therapy and manipulation we can relieve stress tension.

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a holistic, "whole body" system of manual therapy, based on recognised medical orthopaedic testing and biomechanical principles. It can be used to treat a wide range of musculo-skeletal injuries and other functional disorders of the body. It is now widely recognised around the world as one of the most scientifically validated and effective "complementary" therapies.

The World Health Organisation recognises the osteopathic concept of somatic dysfunction as being scientifically proven and the British Medical Assocation also recognises Ostepathy as a distinct medical discipline. Osteopaths are statutorily registered practitioners who have completed a full-time four year course resulting in a BSc Honours degree in Osteopathy. This degree includes anatomy, physiology, pathology, general medical diagnosis, and osteopathic technique. Osteopaths are trained to carry out standard medical examinations of the cardiovascular, respiratory and nervous system. Osteopaths are primary care practitioners and are able to recognise conditions which require medical referral.

What is Mechanical Therapy?

Mechanical Therapy is the treatment of muscle and joint pain using a combination of massage, joint realignment and articulation, dry needle therapy and exercises.
